Parent Involvement
Parents are an integral and vital component of education at Columba. As well as assisting in classrooms and around the school, there are two groups to which parents can belong at Columba:
The School Advisory Board – Members are annually elected to assist in the planning and decision making of the school as well as offering insight and advice to the Parish Priest and Principal.
Parents and Friends Association – Members are annually elected and also volunteer to take on roles in the areas of:
Social – providing opportunities for the interaction of Columba Families
Fundraising – organising events and activities to raise funds for school and classroom resources
Pastoral Care – providing assistance and care during a family crisis or difficulty
The Parents and Friends Association also organise and manage the:
- Columba Twilight Fete held each March
- School Fundraising events
- Community social events
To express interest in involving yourself in these areas of the school, please contact the school office at office@bunyip.catholic.edu.au or (03) 56295933
Parent Code Of Conduct
Parents play a crucial role in the education, social and faith development of their children. At Columba we have a fantastic body of parents who are involved in all aspects of school life. As a result, we have obtained a very high standard of education and civic responsibility in our students and this is highly valued by all members of our community.
