The children have a one hour lesson each week. In these lessons students develop their artistic skills and use these developed skills to produce artwork.
Students particpate a weekly Japanese lesson when they learn about the culture and language of Japan. Origami activities are always a hit!
Each week students participate in dance and drama activies in a fun and engaging way. They use their bodies to express themselves and have the opportunity during Performing Arts to perform infront of their peers or work together to create dramatic moments.
Each week the children are given the opportunity to borrow books, develop their library skills and enhance their appreciation of literature. Children can borrow from the library at lunchtimes. Prep students also have a regularly timetabled block of Library lessons to learn about books and how a library works.
Each week students participate in a games-based Physical Education program designed to develop skills, team work and problem solving strategies. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports and competitions.
Columba provides a range of extra curricula activities and intervention programs to support individual learning. These include EMU, Levelled Literacy Intervention (LLI), extension programs, lunchtime clubs, incursions and excursions.
